The Connection Between Yoga and Leadership

During an evening bonus session of the Women’s Leadership Conference, Kelly O’Neil had her personal yoga instructor share lessons from yoga and how they tie into being the best leader you can be.

Some of the lessons taught were:

  • Breathe because every time you can come back to your breathe you ground yourself.
  • Let go of judgement (of yourself and others)
  • Practice kindness
  • Letting go of competition, especially competition.
  • On this note, Kelly quoted, Iyanla Vanzant:

    “Comparing yourself to others is an act of violence against your authentic self. The God in you has no comparison. The same is true of others.”
